You are eligible to be a host physician in the Rural FP Locum Program (RFPLP) if you:
- Practise full-time in an eligible Rural Practice Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) community with 7 or fewer general practitioners in the community (verified by the health authority each year).
You may request up to 43 days coverage per fiscal year, based on the RSA community designation.
The number of days eligible physicians practising in A,B,C, and D communities are entitled to are as follows:
- A Communities: 43 days/fiscal year
- B Communities: 38 days/fiscal year
- C Communities: 33 days/fiscal year
- D Communities: 28 days/fiscal year
Each request must be a minimum of 5 days, except for weekend assignments where coverage is 3 days (commencing Friday at 18:00 and concluding Monday at 08:00).
Note: If you practise in a community that is not part of the RSA, you are not eligible for the RFPLP. Contact BC Health Careers to determine your eligability to post your locum vacancy on their website.
