Sicamous is a splendid community and is a four-season recreation Mecca, on the water, on the trail, on the mountain – there is something for everyone. Kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, golfing or pickleball to name a few adventures and activities in the Shuswap. Although the population is around 3,000, Sicamous welcomes Guests year-round so that number swells in the summer and winter. You will enjoy excellent support and collegiality.

Welcoming Procedures

Welcomed by the District of Sicamous Town Manager, Evan Parliament and/or Karen Eastland, Health Centre Manager for a pre introduction to the clinic, practitioners and staff.

The District of Sicamous has a welcome package for Locums with a variety of popular gift certificates from local gym passes to recreational passes.


Orientation pre start day given by the Health Centre Manager and MOA for Locum when available, along with presentation of pertinent information on office practice routines,

Emergency kits, billing support, referral lists and resources.

Social Involvement

Arrangements can be made for experiences within the cultural, historical and recreational environment depending on interests. Could involve biking, hiking, boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling etc.

Arrange meet and greet events with local colleagues and stakeholder groups.

Clinic Policy

Covid 19 policies, no opioids or narcotics on site, triplicate policies, urgent care management, emergency procedures and protocols. WE do not identify as a Walk-in Clinic, however we will see patients that have become suddenly unwell or injured.

The clinic does provide accommodation.

Accommodation Description

The District of Sicamous will arrange for local transportation and accommodation as needed. Accommodation varies according to the time of year and availbility, but is vetted through AirBnB or Vacation Rental Specialist.
